In recent years, much thought has gone into reducing our waste mountain. We are thinking of reducing plastic in packaging, but also in bottles, which we often only use once. Recycled polyester has been developed from this as a possible solution to reduce plastic. Recycled polyester, rPET, is made from collecting bottles and plastic waste and cleaning it thoroughly afterwards.
The cleaned bottles are then shredded. These shredded bottles are then ground and formed into pellets. In the next stage, the pellets are crushed and melted to make the yarn.
The yarn is then spun to make the thread. The thread is then woven to make the base fabric. This process gives plastic a second life and uses 50% less energy to produce than virgin polyester.
When the new raw materials are obtained to produce the eco-cuddly toys, the production process is started. The cuddly toys come with embroidered eyes for their cute look. Each model consists of at least 16 recycled PET bottles and contributes to cleaning up the planet.
